CONSERVATION

Protecting wildlife in Mozambique for future generations

We recognise that wild animals and plants, in their many beautiful and unique forms, are an invaluable part of the natural systems of the Earth. Wildlife Helicopters, along with our partners, are contributing towards the rehabilitation of Mozambique’s conservation areas — an ongoing effort that is garnering international attention.

OUR CONSERVATION WORK

Anti-poaching team operations

Helicopter patrols are game changers, allowing rangers to be deployed to remote areas, offering overhead support and an eye in the sky that doesn't miss much.

Game capture and relocation

Our helicopters and pilots play a major role in the translocation of game from areas of human-animal conflict. When there is an excess of wildlife, we assist in both mass capture and chemical capture, enabling game to be reintroduced to new areas that have a need for such species.

Science and research

Monitoring of newly introduced and threatened species, using aerial survey, telemetry and visual sighting, is extremely useful for science research and management. Darting and tranquilising game from helicopters has enabled us to fit GPS collars to threatened species that need our protection and monitoring.

Some of Africa’s most amazing wilderness areas can be found in Mozambique - many off the beaten track.

We are dedicated to protecting the immense variety of flora and fauna in this corner of the world. Helicopters offer an ideal way to access such areas, especially as these tend to be remote. To learn more about our various programmes and partnerships, please reach out to us via the link below.
